Optimizing efficiency is a core skill at Fraunhofer IPA. In the field of medical engineering and biotechnology, expertise ranges from analyzing the technical risks involved in product development, through automating complex laboratory processes, Pharma 4.0, right up to manufacturing personalized medicine, such as cell therapy medicinal products.

Besides offering consulting services and developing instruments, devices and systems, we also develop and modify technologies and processes. With our flexible structures and wealth of expertise, we can hand-pick people to work in project teams in the following areas: medical engineering, assistive systems with ambient sensors, biotech & pharma, clinical diagnostics and medical treatment, quality & regulatory affairs, cleanliness in life science industries, as well as production and process optimization.

Set in a hospital-university environment, the project group PAMB in Mannheim in Germany is conducting research into the potential to automate hospital processes (Klinik 4.0) and is also working on innovative surgical technologies.
