The quality of a joint is determined not only by the joining process itself but also by the upstream and downstream process steps. To ensure optimal joint performance, it is essential to understand how these steps influence the final outcome.
Thanks to our broad expertise and extensive research, we can provide you with comprehensive support in analyzing and optimizing these critical process stages.
Dry ice blasting is an innovative compressed air blasting process that efficiently removes contaminants such as grease, soot, and dust from various material surfaces. The process uses CO₂ snow as the blasting medium, which sublimates instantly upon contact, leaving no residue. This makes it particularly suitable for adhesive bonding surface preparation.
Adhesive bonding requires exceptionally clean and mechanically optimized surfaces. With very hard materials, conventional methods such as grit blasting or grinding often reach their limits. We therefore investigate laser-based surface pre-treatment techniques, which allow for reproducible, hardness-independent, and highly controlled surface modification.
