The online marketplace xito is a still-nascent platform and centerpiece of an ecosystem that helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, as well as newcomers to the world of robotics, to increase their degree of automation in a straightforward manner. By collaboratively developing individualized robot systems using a modular approach, time and costs related to the development process are reduced. Moreover, previous hurdles blocking the application of robotics solutions are being significantly dismantled. In this way, companies can take advantage of automation solutions, for example by delegating monotonous, repetitive work steps to a robot, thereby ensuring that the working environment is more ergonomic and attractive for employees. During times of a lack of specialists, automation can help to maintain – or even increase – production capacities.
