Managing particulate contamination in high-vacuum systems is important for industries such as semiconductors, displays, photovoltaics, optics, elementary particle research and aerospace since particles can cause considerable damage. Wear, particle generation and particle spread differ from cleanroom conditions due to a lack of moisture films and oxide layers and few residual gas particles. Particles often occur on tribological systems such as vacuum valves, manipulators, positioning tables and robots. The important factors involved in particle spread in a vacuum include starting speeds and directions, as well as vacuum pressure.

Our testing services include:

  • Testing and evaluation of particle release and spread on tribological systems
  • Testing under different conditions: temperature, pressure, etc.
  • Target variables for particle release: number, size distribution, volume, release rate
  • Target variables for particle spread: speed, direction, spatial distribution

In a production process where clean conditions are maintained, even the smallest contamination can have a damaging impact. We test and certify your production environments, systems, components and materials for your specific industry using selected testing procedures.

Our testing services include:

  • Analysis of contamination: on surfaces, in the air, in liquids
  • Laboratory testing using analytical methods for recording a wide range of impurities

More and more production facilities need to be equipped with minienvironment or isolator technology in order to generate defined flow rates of clean air and to discharge airborne particles. These particles come from robots, linear guides, positioning systems and grippers and are influenced by the flow of clean air and forces such as gravity and electrostatics.

Our testing and certification services include:

  • Testing of flow guides and pressure distributors
  • Testing and evaluation of the clean air quality of production systems based on CAD files
  • Testing of particle spread in relation to particle size
  • Estimation of air purity classes (in accordance with ISO 14644-1)
