Grippers often constitute the flexibility bottleneck in automation - especially in robotics. Depending on the objects to be handled, the degree of flexibility required can be attained in a variety of ways. These include integrating additional axes into the gripper, reconfiguring the gripper, implementing special gripping principles such as traction gripping, or combining different gripping principles.
