To deploy humanoid robots in industrial applications, they must meet application-relevant criteria. Fraunhofer IPA has developed a benchmark for this purpose. This allows manufacturers and end users to have humanoid robots analyzed by an independent third party for energy efficiency, cleanroom compatibility, data security, and more.

Fraunhofer IPA and Sugino are expanding their partnership. The collaboration now also includes joint research on cosmetics production, formulation development and dispersion technology. With this move, the partners are expanding their cooperation into a new, highly innovative market.

A research team from Fraunhofer HNFIZ has published a newly developed evaluation model that classifies the technical capabilities of humanoids into five levels. The model makes humanoids comparable, facilitates finding the right humanoid for a specific application, and highlights open issues in technology development.

Together with the management consultancy P3, Fraunhofer IPA has investigated how component manufacturers could benefit from producing hardware components for humanoid robots.
